How to dispose of unused opioids safely?

There are several ways to ensure that unused opioids are disposed of safely so they are not used or abused by someone to whom they were not prescribed. Many cities have drug take-back sites that will accept unused medications including opioids. You can search for these sites online near you. 

In addition, many pharmacies or medical practices will take back unused opioids. Every state and region has slightly different facilities and policies about drug take-back sites. If you have questions, talk to your doctor about where you can drop off your unused opioid medications.
