Pharmacies with Suboxone In Stock in Nevada
We understand the importance of having access to Suboxone medication. Over the past 24 months, we found that 80.3% of the pharmacies we contacted in Nevada reported having Suboxone (buprenorphine/naloxone) in stock. For new patients, our team works closely with patients to find pharmacies that carry Suboxone in stock, and we keep track of it with our Pharmacy FInder tool so that we can share that information with other patients.

Medicaid Options in Nevada
Nevada provides Medicaid coverage through its Medicaid program, known as Nevada Medicaid, to ensure access to essential healthcare services for eligible individuals and families.
- Nevada Medicaid Program: Nevada Medicaid is the state's Medicaid program, administered by the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services. It offers comprehensive healthcare coverage, including doctor visits, hospital care, prescription medications, preventive care, and more, to low-income individuals and families.
- Managed Care Organizations (MCOs): Nevada's Medicaid program operates under a managed care delivery system. Managed care organizations (MCOs) are contracted to provide healthcare services to Medicaid beneficiaries. These MCOs have networks of healthcare providers, including primary care physicians, specialists, hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies, ensuring access to necessary medical services.
- Nevada Medicaid Eligibility: Eligibility for Nevada Medicaid is based on income, household size, and other specific criteria. The Nevada Department of Health and Human Services oversees the eligibility determination process and provides resources and assistance to help individuals understand their eligibility criteria and apply for Medicaid coverage.
- Nevada Check Up Program: Nevada Check Up is a separate program under Nevada Medicaid that provides healthcare coverage for children who do not qualify for traditional Medicaid but come from low-income families. It offers essential healthcare services to ensure children receive the care they need to grow and thrive.
Health Insurance Marketplace Options in Nevada
Residents of Nevada have access to health insurance options through the Health Insurance Marketplace, known as Nevada Health Link. It offers a variety of plans to meet the healthcare needs of individuals and families.
- Qualified Health Plans (QHPs): Nevada Health Link provides access to Qualified Health Plans (QHPs) from different insurance carriers. These plans offer comprehensive coverage for essential health benefits, including preventive care, hospitalization, prescription medications, and more. QHPs are categorized into different metal tiers (bronze, silver, gold, and platinum) based on the level of coverage and cost-sharing.
- Premium Tax Credits and Cost-Sharing Reductions: Financial assistance is available through Nevada Health Link to help make health insurance more affordable. Eligible individuals and families may qualify for premium tax credits, which reduce the monthly cost of insurance premiums, and cost-sharing reductions, which lower out-of-pocket expenses like deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance.
- Special Enrollment Periods: Nevada Health Link has designated enrollment periods during which individuals can enroll in or switch health insurance plans. Certain life events, such as marriage, birth of a child, loss of other health coverage, or a change in income that affects eligibility, may qualify individuals for a special enrollment period outside of the regular enrollment period.
The Nevada Health Link website and customer support services can assist individuals in exploring their options, comparing plans, and enrolling in suitable health insurance coverage, whether through Nevada Medicaid or Qualified Health Plans.

Insurance Requirements for Suboxone Treatment
As of 2008, health insurers and group health plans are required, by law, to offer the same level of benefits mental health and substance use treatment as they do for “physical health” (i.e. medical and surgical care). This legal requirement is thanks to the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act (MHPAEA). As a result, the majority of insurance plans offer some degree of coverage for medications for addiction treatment (MAT) and medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD), including buprenorphine/naloxone (Suboxone). Similar to “physical health” benefits, mental health and substance use treatment benefits often have limitations. Depending on your plan, you may have to adhere to certain requirements set forth by your insurer.
Common insurance requirements include:
- Proof of medical necessity
- Prior authorization
- Copayments
- Deductibles
- Yearly visit limits
