Pharmacies with Suboxone In Stock in Florida
We understand the importance of having access to Suboxone medication. Over the past 24 months, we found that 53.6% of the pharmacies we contacted in Florida reported having Suboxone (buprenorphine/naloxone) in stock. For new patients, our team works closely with patients to find pharmacies that carry Suboxone in stock, and we keep track of it with our Pharmacy FInder tool so that we can share that information with other patients.

Medicaid Options in Florida
Florida provides Medicaid coverage to eligible residents through the state's Medicaid program, known as Florida Medicaid. This program ensures access to essential healthcare services for individuals and families with limited incomes.
- Florida Medicaid Program: The Florida Medicaid program offers comprehensive healthcare coverage to eligible low-income individuals and families. It is administered by the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) and provides a range of medical services, including doctor visits, hospital care, prescription medications, preventive care, and more.
- Managed Care Organizations (MCOs): Florida Medicaid beneficiaries receive their healthcare services through managed care organizations (MCOs). These MCOs have networks of healthcare providers, including primary care physicians, specialists, hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies, that accept Florida Medicaid. By choosing an MCO, individuals can access the necessary medical services within the MCO's network.
- Managed Medical Assistance (MMA) Program: The Managed Medical Assistance (MMA) program is part of Florida Medicaid and focuses on providing healthcare coverage to eligible low-income adults and families. MMA offers comprehensive benefits and coordinated care to ensure individuals receive the necessary medical services and support for their health and well-being.
- Long-Term Care Services: Florida Medicaid also provides coverage for long-term care services for individuals who require assistance with activities of daily living. These services may include nursing home care, home health services, personal care assistance, and other supportive services to help individuals maintain their independence and quality of life.
- Medicaid Eligibility: Eligibility for Florida Medicaid is determined based on various factors, including income, household size, and specific categorical requirements. The Florida Department of Children and Families oversees the eligibility determination process and provides resources and support to help individuals understand their eligibility criteria and apply for Medicaid coverage.
Marketplace Insurance Options in Florida
Residents of Florida have access to health insurance options through the Health Insurance Marketplace, also known as the Florida Marketplace. The marketplace offers a variety of plans to meet the healthcare needs of individuals and families.
- Qualified Health Plans (QHPs): The Florida Marketplace provides access to Qualified Health Plans (QHPs) from different insurance carriers. These plans offer comprehensive coverage for essential health benefits, including preventive care, hospitalization, prescription medications, and more. QHPs are categorized into different metal tiers (bronze, silver, gold, and platinum) based on the level of coverage and cost-sharing.
- Premium Subsidies and Cost-Sharing Reductions: Financial assistance is available through the Florida Marketplace to help make health insurance more affordable. Eligible individuals and families may qualify for premium subsidies, which reduce the monthly cost of insurance premiums, and cost-sharing reductions, which lower out-of-pocket expenses like deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance.
- Special Enrollment Periods: The Florida Marketplace has designated enrollment periods during which individuals can enroll in or switch health insurance plans. However, certain life events, such as marriage, birth of a child, loss of other health coverage, or a change in income that affects eligibility, may qualify individuals for a special enrollment period outside of the regular enrollment period.
- Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP): The Florida Marketplace also offers the Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP) for small businesses in Florida. This program allows employers to provide health insurance coverage to their employees through a selection of qualified health plans. SHOP simplifies the process of offering health insurance to employees and provides access to a variety of plans to meet the needs of small businesses.
The Florida Marketplace's website and customer support services can assist individuals and small businesses in exploring their options, comparing plans, and enrolling in suitable health insurance coverage.

Insurance Requirements for Suboxone Treatment
As of 2008, health insurers and group health plans are required, by law, to offer the same level of benefits mental health and substance use treatment as they do for “physical health” (i.e. medical and surgical care). This legal requirement is thanks to the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act (MHPAEA). As a result, the majority of insurance plans offer some degree of coverage for medications for addiction treatment (MAT) and medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD), including buprenorphine/naloxone (Suboxone). Similar to “physical health” benefits, mental health and substance use treatment benefits often have limitations. Depending on your plan, you may have to adhere to certain requirements set forth by your insurer.
Common insurance requirements include:
- Proof of medical necessity
- Prior authorization
- Copayments
- Deductibles
- Yearly visit limits
